Legal advisory for the protection and filing of UCR’s intellectual property.

Protection of intellectual property is a tool of innovation management which allows several actions: secure recognition for inventors or creators, identify and differentiate university products through the use of trademarks and distinctive signs, authorize the use of innovative knowledge to third parties through licenses like creative commons, open source software or licensing agreements with royalties. It also seeks to provide protection against unscrupulous use by third parties and to highlight intangible institutional assets to participate in international rankings and position the image of the University as a generator of cutting age solutions such as patents.

For UCR intellectual property, PROINNOVA conducts the filing as long as this protection is considered adequate by institutional guidelines.
